How to Apply Streamyx for Dummies

Alright, I know this is a pretty dumb title and this is going to be a pretty dumb topic but it's for dumb people like me to actually learn something about how the dumb system works, so feel dumb for awhile and I'll explain it to you.

I'm back in Miri now and have recently moved to a new house to stay for my last remainding year here (hopefully). The moment I got back here, the first order of business was to apply for a streamyx account and get the thing to work so I can go online again.

So, as a dumb person like you and me, which you, presumably, are if you actually continued reading up to this point, the dumb question to ask would be...

How to apply for Streamyx? (Disclaimer: The following step by step guide only applies in Miri)

Step 1. Go the your nearest TMPoint centre and ask for a Streamyx account application form.

In Miri, I had to take a number for the application counter and wait for the nice computer lady to call out my number. This is a trial of patience that would take you, depending on the crowd, from half an hour to an hour. It would only take you almost one minute when you reach the counter, ask/tell the lady behind the counter to give you the form (if you're wondering what form, look above) and she'll give it to you. Going alone is not advisable because you soon become indistinguishable from the background while waiting and nobody else notices you.

Step 2. READ through and fill in the application form.

At the time of this posting, Streamyx is now offering their Streamyx Combo package and it cost RM110 for the 1 MB connection. The lady behind the counter explained to me that they have combined the cost of the fixed line rental and the streamyx account into one (inclusive of a modem) so you actually save an small amount of RM4.00++.

(Click on image to see the whole diagram)

There are no compensation if you do not want to use their modem so if you feel that you are not getting a good deal, you can still apply for the regular RM88 for 1 MB package. Just write it on the section where the combo packages are listed.

Step 3. Submit the form back to TMPoint.

After filling in all the neccesary details, enquire the lady behind the counter about anything that you are not sure how to fill. The lady in the counter will start typing on her keyboard and you should politely wait.

After all the waiting, you should be given a Multimedia Registration Confirmation Slip, which has all the details of your account. KEEP THIS PROPERLY!. The lady behind the counter should also give you a activation no. to call to activate your account. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER IMMEDIATELY! (If she gave you 03-26870111, this number is obselete. The real number is 1300-886-888, dumbass.)

Step 4. Patience is a virtue.
You should wait for at least 3 days and check whether your modem/router's DSL light is blinking and stable. Once you find that your DSL light is acting accordingly, then you can call the activation number.
Follow the voice of the computer phone lady, dial the appropriate numbers and speak to the real person on the phone lady to activate your account. Hang up and wait for 10 minutes then voila!

Step 5. Do the Ayam Dance to show that you are a TMNut.

Step 6. Show off to your friends that you have Screamyx

Even Tony Leung also does this!

So there you have it, by reading this you either become smarter or dumber on how to apply for streamyx, at least that's helpful.

KC is Lost ?!

The holidays are coming to an end and it's almost time to go back to Miri for sweat, tears and other shitty related hardwork (but at least I get to meet my sweet lao po again! Missed you so much!).

While I'm leaving behind my family again, I'm also leaving a hometown that will never be the same again. It's true! Everytime I leave KK and come back during the next semester break, things changed so dramatically that it's not the same as I left it.

For example,

Before this semester break, I had some good soy-sauced Kan Lao Mian for RM5.
After I've touched down KK, my good old soy sauced Kan Lao Mian cost RM7!.

Everytime I fly over to Miri, KK welcomes me back with a new flyover!

Shopping malls and shops are popping up in KK one by ONE!

KK is changing and it's changing in a pace that I can't keep up.

I went to get a haircut today and I was looking for a saloon where my friend works. Then...

It took me 2 hours to find the place!?! I rode my bike all the way to Dongongon, doubled back to Beverly Hills and finally found it at Kobusak...

I actually got freaking LOST in my own hometown ?!?!

I wonder what's the next surprise I'll get when I come back the next time.
My hometown becomes a swamp?

It's a (happy) Dog's Life

So it's already been 2 weeks since I'm back in KK and half of my holidays are gone!
What have I been doing in 2 weeks?

I have been staying at home like a good obedient yappy puppy...

Going online...

Doing the chores...

Doing a little gaming...

Riding my bike...

Doing what dogs do...

And every other time...

Waiting for her call...

A Love Letter to My Love

Dear Lao Po,
I know that I'm not the most romantic person on earth,
even if it means to save my life.

But now that we are apart for the coming month,
I know that it will be hard,
since we can't see each other,
can't hear each other,
and can't hold each other.

Being apart and being with you is different to me everyday.
No matter how much we want to be together,
there are always obstacles that stand in our way,
whether it's the distance,
whether it's the emotions,
whether it's the physical joy or material that I can bring to you.
There is always something that wants to tear apart what we hold together,
You and I.

It may be easy for us to drift apart,
It may be difficult to put back what is sundered.
But with a love that is strong,
a trust that is without doubt,
a bond that is unbreakable,
a longing that is painful,
a day that does not pass like a day,
WE WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN!

I LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
and don't let my actions deceive you.
You are in my mind, in my heart,
in my joy and in my suffering,
in me everytime, everywhere and everything.

I LOVE YOU & I MISS YOU!

KC Is Here (In KK)!

Hooray, I'm back in KK (for a few days now)!

So the semester is over, exams are over and it's time for a holiday.
I will be back here for about a month (leaving around the 20th of July) where I'll be back to school again (urgh).

But for now it's mostly time for fun & games while at the same time i have to do some...........

ERRANDS! Yes, while I'm back, there are some errands that I have to be doing (Argh!). So to prevent myself from forgetting what I came back to do, I'm making a TO-DO LIST to sort things out.

  1. GET A NEW LAPTOP! In case you're wondering what happened to my old one, here's what. Not only a new laptop but also all the accessories like a mouse, earphones and a new external HDD that lasted less than a month. Budget: RM2,500 and below. Any recommendations?
  2. GET MY TRANSCRIPT! It's been a while since I've gone back to INTI, wonder if they still have my records.
  3. FIND A SPOT FOR A FUTURE PR JOB. I'm going to do my PR internship during my next long holiday (Nov-Feb), so now's the time to start scouting around for PR jobs that I can find in KK.
  4. GET SOMEONE A GIFT. When i go back to Miri again, it would somebody's birthday. Fortunately 1Borneo just opened and getting a gift this hopefully wouldn't be as hard as last year.
Hmm.....things don't look as hectic as I thought it would be. Perhaps I'm forgetting something off the list. That would be bad.....

Guilty Pleasures ?

Yes. Admit it. You have one.

I went shopping with my gf and her mom this afternoon and after walking boringly around the shopping mall and having lunch in an hour, my gf suggested that we hit the local bookstore. I was surprised (not only by what you are about to see later, but that I accompanied two woman shopping and they were done with the place in AN hour!).

After scanning through the fiction section and shrugging to myself when I saw different softcover editions of Jeffery Archer's Honor Among Thieves, my gf scurried over happily like a happy child. She gestured me to follow her and quickly. It was then I saw...

It appeared to be a normal manga section at a bookstore that sells normal (adulterated) manga. Big deal. I thought she was probably going to giggle and show me the next handsome guy on one of the covers that she is willingly to dump me for. But things didn't turn out right when I saw this...

It's wasn't just one guy that was on the cover but TWO! TWO GUYS HOLDING......BODIES!

I should not be breathing at this point

Then I realized that for the first time in my life, I have seen in physical form right before my very eyes, the dreaded nightmare of a straight inclined shonen and the wonderful orgasmic fantasy of the manga-loving shoujo; the YAOI manga.

Not only I saw one but then as I looked around, I then find myself having walked into a WHOLE YAOI SECTION.

And it doesn't take long before you think you have seen everything....

*ahem*

Now, I would to disclaim that I'm NOT into this sort of thing, but I would just like to say on a side note that...

THIS SHOP IS AWESOME!!!!! (too bad, she didn't let me go find the yuri or h***** section) because it's something unexpected for me to find in this Oil Town.

And...

It makes her so happy...

(Ok, lao po. Can I have my adulterated manga back now?)
